The 6th annual Boyle Heights Latina Independent Film Extravaganza (BHLIFE) will run from March 2nd through 4th, 2012, in celebration of International Women’s Day. (International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future.)

Latina Directors should consider applying to the BHLIFE film festival today. It’s coming up quick—so don’t miss the deadline THIS WEEK!

THE MISSION OF BHLIFE: The Boyle Heights Latina Independent Film Extravaganza is a celebration of Latinas, their voices, and their visions. The mission of the festival is to build a network of Latina filmmakers that will draw attention to the growing number of Latinas working behind the camera. The films of these Latina directors will constitute a body of work that will serve as an undeniable statement against the stereotypical portrayals of Latinas too often seen onscreen.
